Aslan The Lion in C.S. Lewis’ book the Chronicles of Narnia is a major and prominent character. He appears in all seven of the Chronicles tales.
He is a talking lion. Aslan The Lion is described in the Chronicles as the King of the Beasts, the King above all High Kings in Narnia, and the son of the Emperor-Over-the-Sea.
Aslan The Lion
As a stand-alone character, Aslan can be adapted and used for almost any theme for a party. He is so recognizable.
The Chronicles Books by C.S. Lewis are:
- The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
- Prince Caspian
- The Voyage of The Dawn Treader
- The Silver Chair
- The Horse and his Body
- The Magician’s Nephew
- The Last Battle
The scope is enormous as a theme for a party or event. As a Vodka Luge, Aslan The Lion stands proud, dominant and a real centre or focal point to the room. Commanding and important.
In the very first book, The Lion, the Witch and The Wardrobe, Mr Beaver describes Aslan as being a true king of Narnia and has returned to help the Pevensies (the people of Pevensie) to free Narnia from the White Witch’s rule. And so the tale ensues.
Although Aslan The Lion is a major player in the story , as a Vodka Luge theme, other Ice Sculpture themes or shapes can be picked-up and used too: the lamp post, The Sword, The White Witch and so on and so forth. This book is rich in imagery and settings that can be used in many ways. The imagination is in the book – it is just a matter of deciding which part to enhance and use.
When Peter, Susan and Lucy are guided by Mr and Mrs Beaver to the stone table to meet Aslan, this can be also picked-up and used as a small detail from the book. Aslan (the Vodka Luge) sitting on a ‘stone table’. Creating a scene, or a setting from the book can only enhance the party and enrich the experience for the guests attending. Not everyone would have read the book (or any of the Chronicles) but those that have, will appreciate the small (or even larger details) you would have picked out. The attention taken to create parts or things from the book will not go unnoticed by those attending. Aslan The Lion is a GREAT theme to a ‘Narnia’ themed party, Ball, or event.
