Iron Bridge (Telford, Shropshire)

The Iron Bridge at Telford Ice Sculpture.

Construction on Telford's 'Iron Bridge' began in 1775 and finished three years later in 1779. It was the world's first arch bridge to be made completely of iron.  Previous to this bridge, all were made out of stone or wood. This was a new type of method of building bridges - and has been copied ever since.  This was a great Ice sculpture, very icon in the world of bridges!
