Sword in the Stone Ice Sculpture

Based on the fantasy story of Excalibur, the 1m tall Sword in the Stone is a beautifully crafted ice sculpture representing the central theme of the story.

The original book was written in 1938 by T.H. White, 'The Sword in the Stone' tells the the boyhood adventures of the young King Arthur.  It was written as a stand alone book, but due to its success was the start to a tetralogy.  The book brings together the legend of King Arthur, history, sheer fantasy and of course a great deal of comedy.

In 1963 Walt Disney Productions released their famous animated version of the story.  Being a Walt Disney, the film was not quite a true rendition of the book, but an adaptation.
