Mark Fischel Secretary of the Oxford Union (Oxford University) had seen a number of carvings we had created for other Oxford Colleges and decided to give us call regarding creating a "Polar Bear" for their Michelmas Ball with the theme "Northern Lights". The Polar Bear Vodka Luge was to be a centre and focal point in their marquee set in the grounds of the Oxford Union.
Carved from 1 1/2 ice blocks the Polar Bear stood 75cm tall and 1m in width and weighing in the order of 16 stone - this was certainly a big and impressive ice carving!
