Corporate Events & Functions

n

Corporate events can follow many routes. The selection of either a Vodka Luge, Ice Sculpture, Twister or Ice bar will depend on a number of factors:

    W
  • What is the event?
    • Evening Party or Ball
    • A seminar
    • An exhibition
    • A product launch
    • An Opening of a new branch/store/office
    • A Publicity 'stunt'
    • An Open Evening for potential clients
    • A staff party
    • An evening reception for clients
    • An awards night
    • A Pamper evening
    • Sports event
    • Summer Ball
    • Winter Ball
    • Christams Party
    • How impressive and spectacular you wish the event!

This list is long and varied...

A Vodka luge

Let's be frank; most Corporate parties are either GREAT fun or deadly boring. Agree?

Most (not all) Corporate party organizers are always looking for something 'new' or something 'different' to offer their staff and their guests - not an easy task. HOWEVER..

Vodka Luges are interactive. Vodka luges require the guest to actually 'do something' and participate either individually or as a team

Singularly...

A Vodka Luge is an Ice Sculpture (1m high x .5m wide) with a hollowed-out channel carved through the middle (starting usually at the top) wending its way to an exit point somewhere usually at or near the bottom of the luge.

One person will pour the Vodka (or some other drink) into the top and the guest will capture it as it rushes out at the bottom. The guest will then 'knock the shot glass back in one go'.

On an experience factor of one to ten - this must be a ten or higher!

Why?

As the vodka (or drink) enters the luge it rapidly cools down. By the time it reaches the exit point it is very cold indeed. Most people expect when they 'knock the shot glass back into their mouth' all they will taste is Vodka, flavoured or other wise. Not true.

The sensation guests will first experience is that of a cold flavoured liquid (be it vanilla, raspberry, lime, cherry - or what ever flavour vodka they have chosen).

They will taste the flavour first. As the liquid travels down the guest's throat it warms up - rapidly. Then...

BANG!

This is when the full experience hits and can be felt. For most people it is new, different and, "wow! I must try that again" moment even if they are not usually Vodka drinkers!

As an example, pour any drink that you love into a glass. Before you even raise it to your lips, you will know how it will taste. Not so with a Vodka Luge. The Vodk'as true, crisp and clean flavour will shine through first before the alcoholic sensation. Most people do not expect this - hence it is a real and different experience.

Imagine now playing team games with a Vodka Luge? Imagine the sheer fun and silliness one can get up to? It's an activity to have your camera at the ready for!

Twister

This is a variation of a 'conventional' Vodka Luge.

With Vodka Luges, some people like to place their mouth underneath the exit point to capture the liquid as it bursts forth instead of using a shot glass. To be honest, we encourage people to use shot glasses for health and hygiene matters and not their mouth. However, at parties some of your guests will either deliberately or on the spur of the moment, place their mouth under the exit point. This doesn't happen at all parties - just some.

The way a Twister is constructed, guests CANNOT get their mouth beneath the exit point of a Twister; a conventional glass or shot glass MUST be used.

Why is aTwister different?

Twisters lend themselves to more theming possibilities and statement-making. A Vodka Luge can be of ANY shape (within reason) from an 007 gun through to Two Love Hearts (and everything else in between).

A Twister is a block of ice with theming items captured into the ice - placed around the twisting channel/tube in the ice. Read how we make our own blocks of ice. No matter what your theme is, we can incorporate small items of your theme into the body of the ice. This creates a focal point plus it promotes the theming idea.

When guests pour their vodka (or drink) into the twister, their eyes cannot fail to see the theming products/items you have in the twister

Ice Sculptures

Ice Sculptures are great for making statements or for making a point. An Ice Sculpture can emphasize this succinctly. Ice sculptures can be serious, irreverent or plain daft! The type of event will determine what to have.

What sort of Ice Sculpture should I choose?

Ideas could include:

  • Corporate Logo
  • Copy of the new product in ice ( within reason )
  • Eye-catching abstract design
  • A fun, non-specific design
  • Theme of your current advertising or promotional work
  • The theme of the event
  • An idea you wish to convey

The ideas are almost endless!

Ice sculptures are for looking at only. Our sculptors are talented and creative. Give us an idea of what you would like, and we'll hand-carve it for you.
